Danforth and Pape

This project is located adjacent to Pape Subway Station (Bloor-Danforth-Line), and the upcoming Ontario Line connecting Ontario Place with the Science Centre. To the north of the site is The Royal Bank heritage building, which influences the design of the project, allowing it to blend in with the context. The height of the proposed building takes advantage of the density possible at a major transportation hub and of the view of the downtown core.

This building provides mixed-use and commercial retail at grade level, office space from level 3-5, and residential use at levels 6-49. The design philosophy explores the relationship between contextual yet contemporary, simple, and modern design ideas. The overall built form will offer added housing into the city, while the added density will support local businesses. It is carefully situated in close proximity of a major subway line to also minimize the use of cars.
